New Art Print ‘Crawfish Season’ Starts a New Collection of Louisiana Art.

Kaptography has been working on many new fine art prints for their online storefront. Be on the look out for something new with more of a ‘Impressionistic‘ perspective mixing paint process and texture with many photographs taken throughout the Lafayette and widespread Acadiana areas.

Louisiana is one of the largest areas that Kaptography photographs and it is a dream to be able to do so. Learning Louisiana photography has been a challenge at times but with the many seasons (sometimes all 4 in a day) and changes in weather that we deal with in the state you learn alot about light. You also learn how to be quick when it is needed. Being a photographer is not setting a timer and taking an image…it is knowing the exact time to take an image and learning through the years how to do it with less shutter clicks to get the job done properly. One thing that has always made me realize that photography was a blessing is waiting. One example is this piece called ‘Crawfish Season’ originally taken in the middle of a crawfish pond in Gueydan, LA.

Sometimes you can have just a second to look through your view finder and take an image because you either need to keep moving or it is just about to rain. This was the case with this image.

As a child I spent quite a bit of time planting plants and learning about soil retention. I think about these days quite a bit when I have a camera in my hand which directs my attention to many plants and their natural surroundings. I also have a large sense of respect for farmers and the work they provide to many in the United States. In Louisiana, they farm crawfish and rice, but it is not often I see crawfish traps with greenery similar to a Calla Lily nearby. Any time I see something out of place or provided from a difference in a natural setting it attracts me. It is one of the things I enjoy to show showing that it is possible. So to kick off this new ‘Impressions’ Art Printing selection I chose this image because it also made me happy to enjoy my time away from the office. I do enjoy my office but any time I can do work in the outdoors has always been a thing that makes me learn even more so I never turn the chance down.

Thank you for reading about this photography experience from Kaptography.
